If you earned your living as a first responder how would you treat crisis? Would you find people to blame, take a deep dive into fear and give up helping others and fend for yourself and your family only. Or might you take a first responder approach – stay calm, think through to the outcome you want, act according to safe practices to get there?
Same thing applies to relationships. If you’re in fear, the best of you is likely to b go by the wayside in lieu of reactions that may inadvertantly be hurful to those you love and/or care about. The opportunity here is to think through situations, acknowledge the stress and other emotions you are experiencing and try something new… slow down enough to give your feelings some air time and then make deicsions from a calmer, clearer state.
